OPD gathers Pinoy fashionistas in new Filipino fashion platform

The Filipino fashion world finds a new home in Original Filipino Designs (OPD), the innovative fashion platform featuring some of the most carefully curated collections of brands, designers, stylists, photographers, influencers, and apparel donned by fashionistas that elicit attention in social media.

As local designers, photographers, stylists, and fashion icons have been making their mark internationally for decades, it is only fitting that a fashion community is established to thrive and flourish for them to support one another.

OPD will have a grand launch via Kalye Estilo, an event highlighting the collaboration of 15 esteemed Filipino designers as they showcase their exclusive streetsyle collections. Kalye Estilo will be held on May 24, Tuesday, 10 AM to 3 PM, at Lost & Found 37 Bar and Lounge in Malate, Manila.

Kalye Estilo will be presenting the grand public opening of www.originalpilipinodesigns.com, followed by a montage of Philippine fashion -- Designer's Runway featuring Filipino fashion icons Job Dacon, Vandro Casiwan, Dave Ocampo, Davevin Del Rosario, Paul Tenorio, Edwin Uy, Johnny Abad, Nesthor Borromeo, Jeffrey Tope, Rafael Gonzales, Ganda Anore, and Fernando Garcia.

There will also be two Salas Talk sessions discussing the topics of "Philippine Fashion Making a Mark Worldwide," "The Reinvention of Philippine Fashion," and "The Future of Fashion: Philippine Brands & Local Designers." Another Designer's Runway follows to feature FAKE  Zine (focus on TieDiet and Loner). FAKE Zine is a "print zine that celebrates local independent subcultures from art and music, to fashion, and film."

When it opens on May 24, the Original Pilipino Designs fashion platform will have the following sections:

The Fashion Bulletin Board presenting the latest trends, collections, stories, and OPD recommendations.

A weekly get-the-look, a whole outfit recommendation featuring piece-by-piece items locally made by Filipino brands / designers, with direct links to shops where the items can be purchased.

A collection of street snaps taken by OPD's in-house photographer who roams around BGC snapping pictures of street fashionistas and taking notes of the brands they wear.

A tab acting as Philippine fashion directory, where collections of brands designers, photographers, and stylists are listed with details and previews of their work. It is also a corner for editorials and features on new brand arrivals.

A place for fashion pegs, where visitors can check out how their fashion icons dress up, be inspired, and discover new styles from fashion influencers.

A freedom wall where fashionistas can freely post and connect with fellow OPD users -- where they can also flex their newly bought items, OOTDs, or just simply share their fashion insights.
