Greenpeace invites bikers to Pedal for People and Planet on June 5

In celebration of World Environment Day 2022, global campaigning network Greenpeace, along with its partners and allies across Asia, organized the second leg of Pedal for People and Planet, which involves a 5-kilometer bike ride from U.P. Diliman to Marikina River Park on Sunday, June 5.

The first leg of Pedal for People and Planet, held earlier this year, had participants biking from Quezon City to Manila and calling on governments and corporations to step up climate action to save the planet from climate catastrophe.

The bike action on June 5 aims to sound the alarm for climate emergency and call on everyone to act for climate justice. Immediately following the bike ride from University Avenue in U. P. Diliman to Marikina River Park, a program will be held featuring the performances of known Filipino musicians and environment advocates Noel Cabangon and Tropical Depression.

Registration for Pedal for People and Planet is until June 3 only. Cyclists joining the Sunday bike activity are encouraged to wear their helmets and face masks, use sunscreen or arm sleeves as sun protection, and bring their raincoat to use in case it rains.
