PBA Season 47 Heats Up with Star-Studded Festivities, Grand Opening this Sunday


 

The PBA fever will once again heat up the Philippines as a basketball nation with the return of the league's original three-conference format, starting with the grand opening of the much-awaited PBA Season 47 this Sunday, June 5, at the Smart Araneta Colisuem.  


PBA Season 47 comes with a reinvigorated intensity, with its "Game Tayo Dito!" campaign resonating the competitiveness and passion the teams are bringing to the hardcourt. Following the successful run of the Governor's Cup Season 46, with the Finals series hitting record-breaking ratings and audience shares since 2016 and attracting one of the biggest live crowd attendance, Season 47 is definitely bigger with even more action and entertainment to delight the fans.


Airing live on TV5, One Sports and Cignal TV5's PBA Rush channel, PBA Season 47's grand opening on June 5 will be hosted by TV personality and former volleyball star Gretchen Ho and comedian-actor Vhong Navarro, with celebrity performances by Lovi Poe, Buganda Drumline, G-Force dancers, Born To Be A Star winner Jehramae Trangia, One Voice Children's Choir, POPinoy winners, and the Sing Galing Kantastic 6.


The PBA Season 46 Leo Awards will also be happening as a pre-event to the Season 47 opening ceremony on the same day. The awarding program will be hosted by sportscaster and former national athlete Denise Tan and sports journalist Jutt Sulit. Leo Awards allows the PBA to continue its tradition and also honors last season's standouts. Recipients of the Most Valuable Player, Mythical Selection, Rookie of the Year, All-Defensive Team, Most Improved Player, and the Samboy Lim Sportsmanship awards will be recognized during the Leo Awards ceremony.
