European-Made Reproductive Health Supplement for Women with PCOS Now Available as Mypicos in the Philippines

Over 1,500 obstetricians and gynecologists attended a nationwide virtual event held by women's health company Exeltis Philippines to launch Mypicos, the European-made dietary supplement improving the reproductive health of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Now available in the Philippines to support the well-being of Filipino women, Mypicos is composed of Myo-Inositol and Folic Acid, which help with menstrual cycle regularity, fertility, acne, oocyte (egg) and embryo quality.

The "PCOS and Myo-Inositol: A Look into the Future" webinar was led by Dr. Pedro-Antonio Regidor, Medical Director of Exeltis Europe and author of various Myo-Inositol clinical studies; Dr. Ditas Cristina Decena, past president of Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society; and Dr. Ma. Isidora Margarita Yap-Garcia, a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist.

The speakers shared significant insights on women's health and discussed essential information on PCOS, citing case studies as well as the Mechanism of Action of Myo-Inositol and Studies on PCOS and Women's Health.

"Although there's little local data on the prevalence of PCOS in the Philippines, we do know that it affects about 8-11% of women of reproductive age worldwide. That's roughly 1 out of 10 women," shared Dr. Yap-Garcia, who emphasized that the cornerstone of managing PCOS is lifestyle modification in which dietary supplements such as Myo-Inositol play a role.

According to Dr. Yap-Garcia, the Myo-Inositol in Mypicos helps regulate insulin and glucose metabolism, giving beneficial results and reproductive effects. "There is increasing evidence that Myo-Inositol improves ovulation rates. Also, for women undergoing IVF, it has been shown to improve the quality of eggs and embryos which result in higher pregnancy rates," she added.

Dr. Decena noted that in addition to its reproductive health benefits, Mypicos also helps decrease the probability of noncommunicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome in women.

"Launching Mypicos is a look into the future," said Ramiel Esteban, Mypicos product manager. "With the formulation already commercially available and being used by several countries, particularly in Europe, it is now the Philippines' turn to have access to this innovation. Filipino women now have Mypicos for their PCOS."

Mypicos is affordably priced for only P675.00 per box of 3 sachets and P22.50 per sachet. The dietary supplement is now available in Mercury Drug branches nationwide and can be bought over the counter.
