Avon's BOOBwatch Campaign Reaches Almost 15,000 Participants with Online Fundraising Events

October was Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Avon was again at the forefront of educating women on the importance of early detection, at the same time encouraging them in an entertaining way to follow proper breast care procedures.

With its campaign this year aptly titled BOOBwatch, Avon successfully reached more people and generated awareness at a grander scale with three online fundraising events that recorded almost 15,000 participants. This year's events were all for the benefit of the Philippine Cancer Society.

First in the lineup of  BOOBwatch events in the country was "BOOB Talk," a breast care catch-up with Dr. Gia Sison and Dr. Rachel Rosario of Philippine Cancer Society, Avon ambassador Daniel Matsunaga, TV host and news anchor Dianne Medina, and host Myrza Sison. Held last October 10, Boob Talk became a fruitful conversation about breast cancer and was viewed by more than 6,200 people. Franz Tolentino, a breast cancer survivor and active Avon representative, also shared her personal stories about fighting the Big C.

Avon also made sure that they raised funds in an entertaining way, with the help of one of the Philippines' top female artists, Morrisette Amon. In "Shaped for More with Morrisette: The BOOBwatch Fundraising Concert," Morrisette sang the hits of Adele, Jessie J, and some of her hit songs. Live streamed via Facebook, the online concert was watched by more than 5,700 viewers,

The last of the three online BOOBwatch events was the fun and energetic "#JoinTheBoobment Manoeuvres Fitness Dance-a-thon," which was 1.5 hours full of high-energy dance routines and happy people viewing and donating. The Manoeuvres took viewers down memory lane as they danced to the hits of the 70s all the way to the hits of today, making it a fun event from titas to millenials. During the dance session, Jason and James Zamora, with James Gaddi, taught viewers a quick Tik Tok tutorial that showed how easy and fast it is to do a self breast check.

For those who missed the BOOBwatch events, Avon released a special collection to help raise funds as well. For every sale of the Empower Bra (Avon's first-ever mastectomy bra), the Breast Cancer Promise umbrella and tote bag set, and Evita Watch, Avon donated P50 to the Philippine Cancer Society.

Through this year's BOOBwatch campaign, Avon hopes to make a better world for all women, which is a better world for all. Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in women, and this is why Avon makes it a point to keep their advocacy going. This year, Avon is thankful for being able to reach more people than ever by bringing the Breast Cancer Awareness events online.
