Patrick Quiroz Bags P1 Million Grand Prize as Sing Galing Ultimate Sing-lebrity BidaOke

Twenty-one-year-old actor Patrick Quiroz, the "Coverboy Crushie" of Sing Galing's Sing-lebrity Edition, was declared as the grand winner in the first of Sing Galing's back-to-back finales aired live by TV5 from the newly restored The Metropolitan Theater (MET) tonight.

The first to hold the title of Ultimate Sing-lebrity BidaOke, Patrick won the P1 Million jackpot prize along with a P100,000 cash prize for his chosen "bidaficiary." He's the youngest among five celebrity grand finalists who battled it out in the videoke competition.

Patrick competed against fellow Sing-lebrity contenders Pepe Herrera, Chuckie Dreyfus, Boobsie Wonderland, and Aljur Abrenica. There were originally six celebrity grand finalists but actor-comedian Jerald Napoles was unable to compete tonight.

Sing Galing makes history by being the first-ever TV program to air live from the newly restored 90-year-old MET, the Philippines' oldest existing theater which was recently re-opened to the public after 25 years.

Another first for Sing Galing was its partnership with Meta's Facebook for the show's free online voting via Facebook Messenger -- the first time for a TV program to utilize the social media platform for online votes.

After wowing the judges (Rey Valera, Ethel Booba, and Allan K) with his heartfelt rendition of South Border's "Love of My Life" in the first round, Patrick was pitted against Aljur Abrenica in the final duel round where they performed a medley of David Pomeranz songs.

Patrick won the final round with 67% of the votes versus Aljur's 33%.
